Holidays and swimwear

Swimwear

As the holiday season is approaching, I thought I would talk about swimwear, it can be a nightmare for many - it’s finding that right swimsuit that makes you feel good - whatever your size.

  • For those of you who have large boobs, think about support. Make sure the straps are wide and not thin spaghetti straps, also avoid halter neck styles.

  • Tankinis are a great option for those of us who are short-waisted - I have found that the traditional swimsuit style is just too long in the body. Although you could shorten the shoulder straps.

  • To help make your legs look longer opt for high-leg styles.

  • If you are very fair - a black swimsuit may be too high a contrast between the black and your skin tone - pick a lighter colour instead.

Boo Hoo and Asos do a range of petite swimwear - although some of the styles are aimed very much at the younger market!

Check out Swimwear365, Next and some of the lingerie companies.

Tip; Check out standard sized linen shirts - they will be long enough to be a short beach cover up.

There’s a huge range of coverups available too, from sarongs to floaty style dresses - so there is no reason for you to be a shrinking violet on the beach.
