Lets ditch Black!
Suits for work
It’s already September - where has summer gone? It seems to fly past faster each year! My thoughts are already turning towards autumn and winter wear… The mornings are starting to get chilly and now is the time to think about what to wear for work that will take you right through until next Spring.
We tend to stick with blacks and dark colours - but as the winter days are often dark enough, I’ve picked out a few items with a bit more colour! Black is often a difficult colour for most of us to wear, but we can still look and feel professional in other colours. What’s more , we don’t have to wear the whole suit - mix and match with whatever you have in your wardrobe - make your clothes work for you, but perhaps by adding something new, you can make your wardrobe go even further!
This is the Nadia suit from Hobbs - I do like their work wear! The trousers are £119 and the jacket is £199. This colour would look fab with navy, team the jacket with a pair of navy trousers, or a navy pencil skirt. You don’t have to wear the complete suit if the colour is a bit out of your comfort zone!
Perhaps this one makes you feel more comfortable! Again its from Hobbs The Tasmin suit - the jacket is £159 and the trousers £99. An added bonus is that this suit is washable! Cream looks fab with this, as would a camel colour -again, you don’t have to wear the whole suit together. In fact, if you bought a suit to wear as a suit, I would always suggest you bought the skirt AND trousers with the jacket. That way, the suit will last so much longer, as you alternate between the two pieces.
This suit is from Marks and Spencer, and it’s also washable, the jacket is £69.00 and the trousers are £35.00. Again, its perfect for mixing and matching with other jackets and skirts or trousers.
Not all of us want or need to wear a suit so I’ve found this gorgeous dress
This is from LKBennett The Effia dress. Pricey at £250.00, but nevertheless, a gorgeous dress, it has a very flattering cut, and would suit most shapes.
Go on, bring some colour into your winter wardrobe!- I’ve just given you and example of what’s out there, Golds, russets and bronzes are colours you will see a lot of this autumn, Give the black a back seat!
Lets look fabulous!!
